Lynette Noni delivers a swoony YA romance perfect for readers wanting a high stakes lost-in-the-wilderness adventure brimming with tension-filled romance.
A GIRL HAUNTED BY TRAGEDY.
A BOY SEEKING REDEMPTION.
A WILDERNESS AS BEAUTIFUL AS IT IS DEADLY.
Zander Rune was the darling of Hollywood until he fell from glory and was labelled a problematic bad boy. His public image needs fixing-fast-or he'll lose the role of a lifetime, and all his dreams with it.
Charlie Hart is a regular teenage girl who despises everything Zander represents. But thanks to her scheming best friend and an ill-timed social media competition, Charlie finds herself pretending to be Zander's biggest fan on a four-day reality TV adventure led by renowned survivalist Rykon Hawke.
When their trip goes horribly wrong, Charlie and Zander are left stranded in the wilderness. No Rykon, no film crew, no rescue. The only way they'll survive is if they trust each other. But in order to do so, both will have to let go of the ghosts of their pasts, and just maybe find themselves-and one another-in the process.
Zander Rune is a Hollywood film star who was widely loved, until he crashed his car and was charged with driving under the influence. Now, he has a reputation for being a problem and he needs to fix his public image quickly, before the producers of his next big movie decide he is not worth the trouble.
Charlie and Ember are best friends. Ember is Zander’s biggest fan, but Charlie can’t stand him as her mum was killed in a hit run crash by a driver also under the influence. Ember enters them both in a competition to spend four days with Zander on a reality show with famous survivalist, Rykon Hawke.
Ember wins the competition but a chest infection stops her going, so Charlie agrees to go instead. Everything feels awkward and uncomfortable between Zander and Charlie, but they agree to get along. After all, it’s only 4 days. Neither of them expected the trip to be easy, but surviving in the Blue Mountains National Park is harder than they ever imagined, even with Rykon to help. When Rykon breaks his ankle half way through the trip, it’s up to Zander and Charlie to save him. Can they learn to trust each other enough to survive this wild adventure on their own?
This is a wonderful, fast-paced, lost in the wild adventure with underlying romance building through the book. Zander and Charlie have nothing in common as their worlds are miles apart, but being thrown into life and death experiences where you only have each other to rely on makes them realise that they can do much more than they ever would have thought they were capable of. This story is full of humour, happiness, tears and thrills, and is so hard to put down. I really loved it. It will be well loved by those who like adventure and romance entwined. Best suited to readers in middle and upper secondary.
