Trace Balla is a remarkable Australian author and illustrator who takes us on a heartfelt journey through her life to date, with the help of her wonderful art.
She has always felt an affinity with nature and has been involved in many peaceful protests to help protect Australia's amazing land, most importantly to stop uranium mining at Jabiluka in the Kakadu. She has worked with many Aboriginal people and her connection to Country has grown strong through these associations.
This is a deep look at her life and lends itself to further discussion of some of its main themes of family, activism, nature and wild habitats and the importance of their protection. It best suits middle grade readers from 10 to 14 years.
