One little bird sets out into the big blue world to find a tree, build a nest, and make a best friend before winter comes.
Summer is here! The days are long. The cherries are ripe. And the hot sun hangs high in the sky. Early in the morning, Bird and Spider try to beat the heat in Bird's fancy nest, but it's still too hot to handle. All of a sudden, they hear cries for help! Soon, they find a friendly worm stuck in the sun. Bird and Spider provide some shade so Worm can get all slimy and healthy again. Everyone knows an early bird catches the worm . . . but will that prove true for friendship too?
It’s now summer, and Bird and Spider are still both on the search for a new best friend. Bird thinks it is way too hot to do the summer dance and song of friendship, but Spider likes it hot and encourages Bird to keep his eye on the prize!
Maybe a web-spun parasol will help keep the sun off and let them get back to finding a new best friend?
When someone does hear them singing, they meet Worm. But Worm has a problem – he is stuck in the sun and has lost his slime.
When Bird and Spider help him, they find themselves back at the wormhole, where they all talk about how nice it would be to have a friend and how hard it is to make them. But are they all missing something once again?
This is the second instalment in this wonderful new junior graphic series about friendship, acceptance and helping others.
