This is the first book in a new series by A.L. Tait, the Australian author of The Mapmaker Chronicles.
Gabe, who has lived in the monastery all of his life, is given a beautiful coded manuscript by Brother Benedict whilst muttering his final words - ‘Take it to Aidan - hide it - they must not have it’.
So begins an amazing quest to protect the book and uncover the book’s secrets. Gabe enters the forest and meets a band of merry girls, and they join together to assist each other. Merry, their leader, is trying to free her dying and innocent father from Lord Sherborne’s dungeon. Can they figure out the mystery of the book and save her father?
This book has an evil Lord, an imposter Prince, and all of the mystery and adventure sure to make it a hit with 10 to 14 year olds.
