Description

Kids love naughty, parents love safe - and Swearwolves delivers both.

Luna Wilkinson wants to stand out - but not like this.

Something that lurks in the dark and shadowy woods behind her house just bit her.

Rude. And also, extremely unhygienic.

Now she's cursed. Super cursed. The kind of cursed that forces her to blurt out every swear word in the dictionary - as well as a few she's sure aren't in any dictionary.

So she's become a walking, talking agent of chaos - and there's no way to turn it off.

And the worst part? She has only three days to undo the curse...or she'll be stuck swearing her head off forever.

Review

Luna has just moved to a new town. She really wants to fit in at school, but it’s proving difficult. She decides that the best way is to audition for the school musical - she can sing and dance and act (well, the acting not so much), and then she can become friends with the cool kids.

There is a slight problem though. Something scary lives in the spooky woods behind her house, and when she goes into the woods to get her brother's ball back she gets bitten by something. Now she can’t stop using swear words at the most inconvenient times!

The bite set off an ancient curse, and to make matters worse she only has three days to find the cure or she is going to be swearing forever - and you can’t audition for a musical if you can’t stop swearing!

Will Luna find the cure, stop swearing, and live a normal life? Or will she decide to join the swearwolves and be human during the day (without the swearing) and a wolf at night?

This is a fun book that actually has no swearing, just black spaces where swear words could be used. Luna is a great character who is really trying to fit in and find some friends, while dealing with an ancient curse, which might not be such a bad thing in the end. It’s fast-paced, funny and full of adventure. It is perfect for those in lower secondary who like a few laughs mixed with some scary sounding (but really quite friendly) werewolves.
