Hi! I'm Star and I'm an elephant. There isn't enough food left on my island, so my herd has to split up. But the world out there is so big! Soon I am lost and alone, facing giant spiders and a big, wild ocean and the scariest thing of all... humans! Will I ever see my family again?
From the creator of Pawcasso comes an inspiring graphic novel series for young readers, the perfect introduction to the wonders and perils of the natural world - and how we can all do our part to protect it.
Star is a delightful young elephant, who loves his home and his family.
But when food becomes hard to find and their habitat is destroyed by loggers, Star and his family are left with no option but to spilt up to try and survive.
Star finds himself on an island with his Mum and his Aunty, finding food and trying to avoid any humans. His Mum is always telling him ‘don’t go where I can’t see you’. So when she suddenly breaks her number one rule and tells Star to ‘go where I can’t see you’, he is confused and finds himself separated from his Mum and his Aunty.
But did he hear her right? Why would his Mum say that?
He sets out to try and find them, but when he encounters humans, he is sure they are going to cause him harm. But will they hurt him or help him?
This is a wonderful new series that highlights the plight of animals around the world. With a section at the back that shows the true story about Star’s adventure, and ways that we can all help elephants around the world, junior primary students will thoroughly enjoy it.
