A hugely inventive, action-packed, fun and quirky - and occasionally dark - adventure for fans of Skulduggery Pleasant, Nevermoor or Frankenstein.
A rusting ocean liner. Thirty students learning to resurrect the dead. A murderous monster on the loose... Just a typical day at PROMETHEUS HIGH.
Athena Strange's first semester at Prometheus High starts with a bang. But when her lessons in reanimation, robotics and skulkers move too slowly and she has trouble making friends, Athena decides to take matters into her own hands.
On a ship where science and magic collide, and the monster under your bed is probably very real... will Athena be able to hold her head above water?
Athena Strange loves performing odd experiments, but when she successfully reanimates the neighbour’s deceased cat, her life quickly changes.
Offered a place at Prometheus High, where these sorts of things are commonplace, she is quickly whisked away to take up her place at the school.
When she arrives, she discovers the school is made up of students, and some very strange teachers, aboard a rust bucket of a former ocean liner. But when her classes are moving too slowly, she decides to spend her nights creating her own Frankenstein-like creature. Surely this cannot end well…
In a story full of magic and science, ghouls and creations, our characters discover that friendship and teamwork are essential for survival.
The content is rather gruesome at times, however it is still a wonderful, quirky and exciting story, full of action and adventure, that is aimed at lower secondary readers.
