Pinch Perkins is twelve and lives on Tricky Dragon Lane with her Mum and her Dad, who both have magical abilities. Pinch can’t do magic yet but she hopes that soon she will find out what sort of magic she can do.
When her Mum becomes the latest victim of a strange curse and no one can tell her why, Pinch decides to investigate for herself.
She manages to convince her neighbour Henry, who she can’t stand, to help her and they set off following the clues that Pinch has found. They need to find the answer before Midsummer’s Eve when magic is at its peak - or it will be too late. Can two kids outwit all the grown ups trying to stop them?
This is a fun and adventurous book and you will love Pinch. She is determined, funny, brave and intelligent, and loves her family dearly.
