Brittany and Co. are horse crazy, but when their headmistress, Ms Tralala, bans their actual horses from their extracurricular school horse club, they decide instead to compete in The First Inaugural International Hobby Horse Championships in Paris (TFIIHHCiP). To raise money for their trip they attempt to sell radioactive chocolate crackles outside the village bookshop!
With the help of Ms Tralala, who insists on joining them on their adventure, Brittany and Co. take on Paris in a way that Paris has never been taken on before. Will it matter that they haven't done a scrap of practice for their big competition?
Brittany, Heidi, Hyacinth and Lisa all attend SULC (Superior Upper-class Ladies College).
When their headmistress, Ms Tralala, decides that all girls must take part in after-hours extracurricular activities, the girls decide that they will form a horse club. With some creative planning and scheming, the Saddle Sore Club is born.
The problem is that Ms Tralala’s ideas of what they should be doing at their club meetings, and what the girls think they should be doing, are very different!
When they discover the world of Hobby Horse riding, the girls find themselves on their way to Paris, with Ms Tralala as chaperone. Can the girls come home as heroes? Or will their complete lack of practice turn their trip into a disaster?
The girls are kind, funny and inventive, and this is a great, fun story about friendship, adventure, and thinking outside the box.
It will be thoroughly enjoyed by those in middle to upper primary.
