Review

This is bold retelling of Little Women, set in the 21st century as the girls are finishing high school and embarking on university life.

When their father publishes a bestseller about his four daughters - Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy - they are all reluctantly thrown in to the public eye, with their lives now out there for all to read. Now on New Year’s Day, Beth is found murdered and the girls have to deal with the grief of losing their sweet sister. They are determined to find the killer and bring them to justice. But the more they dig, the more suspicious they become of each other, and those close to them. What secrets are each of them hiding?

Can Meg, Jo and Amy ever find their way back to each other, or will this tear them apart?

This book has so many twists and turns as it reimagines the March sisters in a modern setting, and with a murder mystery to solve. Told in alternating chapters from each sister's point of view, this is a book I found very hard to put down. I love Little Women and I thoroughly enjoyed this book as well. Although the story is different, the characters have been kept with similar personalities to the original, and it just might inspire some readers to pick up Little Women!

This will perfectly suit readers aged 15 and up who love mystery with some romance thrown in.
