This is a fabulous new middle grade adventure series.
Batthew (yes, a very unusual name, but you will understand how it came to be when you read the story!), is young boy born in to the world of 'Noses'.
His parents own the famous perfume house, Olfactory. But they have been been missing for many years, and Batthew is now in the care of his Aunt and Mr Sandlewood, the Dad of his best friend, Lavender.
When the Titam Arum - one of the world’s rarest flowers, that has a very important connection to Batthew and his parents - goes missing, Batthew and Lavender are determined to find out who the thief is. But time is not on their side, as the flower will wilt and die in 3 days, and will then be lost forever!
They will have to use their imagination, follow the clues, and Batthew will also have to follow his nose to find the truth.
This is a unique and great fun read that takes the reader on a journey through the sense of smell. And you might just start to wonder what really is in perfume after reading this!
Batthew and Lavender have a wonderful, trusting friendship, and it is a highlight of the story. Set in the fictional town of Candlenut, there are many clues as to what city it is based on as well. This will be enjoyed by all those aged 9 and older.
