Set in a post-apocalyptic world, 17-year-old Piper thinks that she may be the only survivor of the pandemic. Alone for three months, she knows that she is not normal. She has powers that she cannot control but she is unsure if she should venture out to see if others survived too...
Then Seth arrives - floating in a lake, hurt but alive. Should she help him or pretend that she never saw him at all?
And when she saves him, he has so many secrets that he is unwilling to share. Who is Seth really, and where is he from?
But all this must wait when the brain sucking monsters called Reapers arrive. Piper has a certain ability to fight them off, and Seth knows a lot about them but he still doesn’t trust Piper enough to share.
